Classic egg-butt snaffles, now produced overseas, available in blued or stainless steel finish. Measures 5.25" wide, mouthpiece measures 3/8" in diameter.
Our regular egg-butt snaffle (shown above) has a sweet steel mouth with plenty of Copper inlaid. The metal is highly polished and then hot blued.
The stainless egg-butt snaffle, (shown below) is the classic snaffle that we have been making in sweet steel for years now. But this version is done entirely in Stainless with no copper inlaid in it for those of you whom choose to Show in an English event. If you have been looking for the same great eggbutt but have trouble with rust, then try the stainless version. Mouthpiece width 5.25" width.
A note from Jeremiah Watt Products: We assure you that the quality is great, and the price is even better than before. Know the difference, you will see that the JWP logo has been moved on each snaffle, it is easy to see on the front of the barrel.
Snaffles, are the primary bit used when starting colts, it is quite simple really. The snaffle allows us to convey to a young horse without causing fear. These bits are made with the right amount of wieght to have presence in the horses mouth. The right amount of copper to promote and maintain that moist and receptive mouth that all horse men desire. The right amount of finish to let all of those who stop to admire a JWP bit know they are looking at quality. |

These are the finest braided parachute cord mecates available on the market today. Made from 12 strands of military style parachute cord braided over a nylon core, the 9/16" square rope fits well in your hand and can be held comfortably along with your lariat. The square shape allows easy grip and the parachute cord resists clinging or snagging. This is a favorite with horsemen and clinicians. It is washable, very durable and will give you years of service. Vince Donley learned how to make his own rawhide cowboy gear from Bruce Grant's book, almost 30 years ago. During his cowboying days on ranches in the northwest, this was how Vince kept himself properly outfitted with high-quality gear. It was not available in the saddle shops, and because most of the rawhide braiders had either moved away or passed on, the craft had all but died out. Rawhide equipment is the hallmark of the American west's vaquero tradition and the pride of those who own and use it.
Vince's work quality braiding is just that; beautiful, functional braidwork made to stand up to hard everyday use. He uses a fewer number of larger strings than in his midgrade work. However, even Vince's work quality is finer than most other braidwork available in regular retail establishments. |
